Our Mission

Community Voice Mail (CVM) helps people living in poverty, transition and homelessness rebuild their lives by connecting them to jobs, housing, information and hope. We do this by customizing and distributing communications technology via a national network of community-based services.

"I could not have done it without the help of Community Voice Mail . I couldn't have secured doctor's appointments, applied for jobs, looked for an apartment or stayed in touch with people without Community Voice Mail"

Meet Carolyn. Last year, Carolyn did not smile much - she was homeless, jobless, and just about out of hope. Carolyn found out the unthinkable can happen, even when you play by the rules.

A local church gave her shelter and enrolled her in Community Voice Mail so she could give her phone number to potential employers and landlords.

Why is she smiling today? The phone started to ring!

Today Carolyn is working and living in her new apartment.

We want to replicate results like these. Right now, Community Voice Mail is poised to double the number of people served -- from 40,000 to 80,000 annually -- by the end of 2011. Our expansion campaign was planned well before the economic downturn, but in the midst of persistent unemployment, foreclosures, and increases in homelessness, we feel an even greater urgency to rise to this challenge.

The success of this expansion campaign hinges on the involvement of people who understand and are passionate about making this possible.

That's why we are turning to you and asking you to help make it happen with a gift or a regular monthly installment.

On behalf of the 40,000 Community Voice Mail clients whose stories we are proud to share, thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Jennifer Brandon                              Dave Sieminski
