Karl Greene accepts award from North Lawndale Employment Network
On September 12, Inspiration Corporation's Community Voice Mail program received the "Creating Community thatWorks" Award at the North Lawndale Employment Network's 8th annual membership meeting.
The organization awards partnering agencies and individuals for their respective successes. Inspiration Corporation was the only agency to receive an award this year, highlighting the effectiveness of the Community Voice Mail program.
Karl Greene, Community Voice Mail Manager, accepted the award. Greene noted that "The award shows that Community Voice Mail addresses the needs of the community and the individuals it serves."
Community Voice Mail has 730 active numbers assigned to people affected by homelessness and poverty. The program is administered both for Inspiration Corporation's guests and participants, as well as 57 other programs in the Chicagoland area.
Greene describes the aim of Community Voice Mail as "connecting individuals affected by homelessness in Chicago to employment and housing." The recent award reveals that these aims are being met.

Says Karl Greene, Chicago CVM Manager:
I just finished interviewing one of our CVM users here at Inspiration Cafe. Mr. Erick Hampton said, " I had been searching for a job for two months before getting Community Voice Mail.
A week after getting CVM, I received a message from my present employer to come in for an orientation. Had I missed that opportunity, it's quite possible I would not be employed today. Having Community Voice Mail made me realize the importance of having a reliable way to get a message."

Getting to Us
Driving Directions
We are located 1/2 block east of the Red-Line el stop at Wilson Avenue.
- Turn right after exiting the el station.
- Proceed to the next corner which is Wilson and Broadway.
- Turn right at Broadway. Proceed about four doors off the corner to a doorway displaying a green awning overhead, that says "Inspiration Cafe.'"
- Go to the third floor, making a right turn to suite 301.
- Ask for Karl Greene.
